Teaching Philosophy

Nicholas Rada has been teaching piano performance in the Lower Mainland for over 15 years. His students demonstrate a commitment to quality musicianship and disciplined study, achieving excellence in national competitions and festivals, and throughout their performance careers.

Nicholas Rada’s studio is proud to uphold a high performance standard, encouraging student success and maintaining a record of exceptional student results.

As a teacher, Nicholas believes that success in the arts requires commitment, discipline, diligence, and engagement with the music community. As an international performer and collaborator, he believes in leading by example.

Current students are encouraged to be actively involved with their musical communities through local and international performance engagements and competitions. Students of Nicholas Rada are regular participants at national competitions and international festivals. Many students have enjoyed international performance opportunities at venues like The Chan Centre (Vancouver) and Carnegie Hall (New York City), and in cities like Prague, Vienna, Salzburg, Mexico City, and many others.

Past studio members have continued their studies at internationally acclaimed universities, receiving scholarships, notable distinctions, and performance opportunities abroad as a result of their engagement and hard work.

Nicholas strongly believes that an optimal learning environment that provides ample opportunities for creativity, performance, and an in-depth study of the arts encourages the development of student potential. To make that environment possible for all students, Nicholas co-founded RR Academy with his wife and collaborative partner Evgenia Rabinovich in 2020.

Applications for lessons at RR Academy are currently being accepted for the coming year, but spots are limited.

Please email music@rracademy.ca for lesson inquiries.

“No student ever attains very eminent success by simply doing what is required of him: it is the amount and excellence of what is over and above the required, that determines the greatness of ultimate distinction.”
